1. How do I install MacPoET 1.2?

Note: Do not install MacPoET on OS 10 or higher

1) Run the "MacPoET Installer" (Double click on it).
2) Highlight & drag "Install MacPoET" to the picture of your hard drive, as described in the installer.
3) Click on "Restart".
4) Go to your Apple menu, "Control Panels", then click on "TCP/IP".
5) Make sure your "TCP/IP" properties are set to "Connect via:" "Ethernet built-in" and "Configure:" is set to "Using DHCP Server".
6) Find your "MacPoET" folder on your hard drive.
7) Double click on "MacPoET" (within that folder).
8) Fill in your "Username" (as supplied by your ISP, including @yourispdomain.com, generally your e-mail address as supplied by your ISP).
9) Fill in your "Password" (as supplied by your ISP).
10) Click on "Save Password".
11) If you want to auto connect on startup check off "Connect at Startup".
12) Click "Connect".
13) Surf away!

3. I am having some trouble with MacPoET and being able to surf.

1) Double-click on the TCP/IP Control Panel
2) Select the "Configurations" item under the file menu.
3) Select "Duplicate" to make a copy of the current TCP/IP configuration. Name this configuration "MacPoET"
4) Select "Make Active"
5) Select "Ethernet" in the "Connect via" pop-up menu.
6) Select "Manually" in the "Configure" pop-up menu.
7) Enter "192.168.0.1" in the "IP Address" field.
8) Enter "255.255.255.0" in the "Subnet mask" field.
9) Enter "192.168.0.2" in the "Router address" field.
10) Enter the IP address of your DNS in the "Name server addr" field. Refer to your ISP for the correct address.
11) Leave the "Search Domains" field blank.
12) Quit "TCP/IP", saving your changes.
13) Restart your Macintosh.

4. How do I install MacPoET version 3?

Note: Do not install MacPoET on OS 10 or higher
1) Unpack MacPoet software to your desktop (Double click it)
2) Double click the newly created MacPoET folder
3) Double click MacPoET icon in that folder
4) Click "Continue"
5) Click "Install"

6) Choose the folder you want to install the software in -> Click "Choose"
7) Choose "Yes" when asked to continue

8) Click "OK" if you get this screen
9) Click "Restart"
10) Open your MacPoET folder
11) Double click MacPoET icon

12) Enter your "User Name" (for your user name make sure you include your ISP's domain as part of it. I.E.: for Verizon it would be userid@verizon.net) and "Password" as supplied by your ISP. Click "Save Password"
13) Click Connect and Surf Away!
